Questa che Tempi Duri vuole offrire ai suoi lettori è una vera e propria chicca che si concretizza nell’intervista con Billy Sheehan in quel della Stazione Birra e malgrado l ostat od’animo non sia stato dei pìù rosei dovuto a vari problemi che hanno costellato l’esibizione il grande Billy Sheehan si è concesso brevemente per alcune domande fattegli dal nostro Wild Joey eccovi qui il resoconto

Wildjoey: Mi potresti raccontare di questo tour?
Billy: Certo che posso (ride)… Il tour è andato alla grande, ma due sere fa sono stato male, veramente male. E Ieri sera, ero con il tour manager ed il nostro computer è morto. Perciò abbiamo avuto parecchi problemi ed abbiamo attraversato un brutto momento durante lo show ed abbiamo avuto parecchie difficoltà per mettere tutto a posto. Abbiamo fatto del nostro meglio, spero sia andato tutto bene ma abbiamo avuto veramente parecchie difficoltà. Sai, è difficile far girare le cose quando non trovi altro che problemi… avevo l’opportunità di suonare con dei vecchi amici, avevo qualche problema ed inoltre è difficile suonare in queste situazioni. Ci abbiamo provato, noi siamo stati bene, ci abbiamo provato comunque.

W: Continuerai il tour con Steve Vai? Questi spettacoli con Virgil e Tony sono solo jamming?
B: Sì, in realtà sono solo jamming. Tornerò a suonare con Steve. A settembre ci sarà un tribute tour, un concerto di beneficenza per un’industria discografica e lì ci saranno anche Steve Vai e Joe Satriani.

W: Vorresti parlarci del tuo nuovo album solista?
B: Ho appena cominciato a scrivere qualcosa, è una nuova opportunità in Giappone con una nuova casa discografica, sto scrivendo le canzoni, ma quest’anno ho avuto sette spettacoli, un tributo agli Who, alcuni concerti in Giappone con Steve Vai, numerosi altri spettacoli ed anche una registrazione durante il tour. Sono comunque sicuro che quando scriverò per il mio nuovo album avrò un sacco di idee nuove.

W: Quindi canterai di nuovo?
B. Certamente, canterò ancora.

W: Puoi dirmi se i Mr. Big torneranno di nuovo insieme?
B. Non credo…

W: Quindi è una separazione definitiva?
B: Credo proprio di sì, anche se siamo stati bene insieme ed abbiamo suonato parecchio

W: quali sono stati i problemi che hanno portato alla separazione?
B. Non parlerei di problemi. Ho cercato di rimanere buon amico con tutti, ognuno ha cercato di rimanere in contatto con gli altri, tutti i componenti di Mr.Bug sono brave persone, che hanno suonato insieme per un certo periodo, tutto qui.

- Wildjoey: Can you talk me about this tour?
- Billy: Yes, Sir, I think I can. (laugh) The tour has been great. But two nights ago I get sick, really sick. And last night I stayed with the tour manager and our computer died. We had much trouble so and we had a difficult show time in Rome and we had a hard time to make everything right. We try our best, I hope it was good but it was a very difficult time. You know, it is hard when you have nothing but trouble. But I had the opportunity to play with old friends. I was sick, but in the same time is difficult to play in such a thing so. We tried, we had a very pretty good night, we tried.

- W: Do you continue the shows with Steve Vai? Is this tour with Virgil and Tony only a jamming?
- B: Yes, it’s only a jamming. I play with Steve, then I’ll go back. September tour there will be a tribute tour, a benefit concert for a record company, I will find there Steve Vay and Joe Satriani.

- W: Do you wanna tell us something about the new solo album?
- B: I started to write it now, it is a new deal in Japan with a new company, I’m writing the songs now, but this year I had seven shows, a Who tribute and Steve Vai shows in Japan and other shows too and I did a tour record also. I think that when I’m writing for my new record I’ll have a lot of new ideas.

- W: So do you’ll sing again?
- B: Sure, I’m going to sing.

- W: Can you tell me if you come back with Mister Big?
- B: No plans.

- W: So did you split off forever?
- B: I think so. We had a good time, we played together…

- W: What was the problem for your split off?
- B: I didn’t speak of problems. I’d try to get along with everyone, everyone try to get along, all the Mister Big guys are good guys, they played some time together, and that’s all.
