I Tankard sono un gruppo thrash metal tedesco nato a Francoforte nel 1982. ed eseguono un thrash metal molto veloce. Un metal alcolico. I Re della Birra che ancora oggi non hanno tradito i loro fans italiani mettendo a ferro e fuoco il Rainbow di Milano ecco l’ennesima intervista che Tempi Duri vi offre effettuata dalla nostra Cristina Ferrandi in quel di Milano

Voglio incominciare parlando del vostro tour. Come sta andando?
Molto bene. Ci siamo divertiti molto a Milano, a Prato e a Gorizia e i fan erano veramente entusiasti!!!!!

Hai spesso dichiarato che i concerti più soddisfacenti sono stati in Italia. Perché? Qual è il vostro messaggio per i fan italiani?
I fans sono totalmente pazzi ed amano il thrash metal. Il nostro messaggio: continuate con il thrash e continuate a divertivi, il metal non morirà mai!!!!

Ora non sono più una vergine( o spero solo in senso musicale eh N.D.R.) perchè ho visto il vostro concerto a Milano (il 29/09/2006 al Rainbow). I concerti thrash sono rinomati per i generali scuotimenti di testa, i salti e i lanci delle persone del pubblico. Purtroppo qualche volta capita che un ragazzo (specialmente una ragazza) si fa male. Qual è la tua opinione in merito?
La gente deve fare attenzione agli altri, è molto importante. Ma la ragazza che si è fatta male a Milano ora sta bene, mi ha scritto una email giusto due giorni fa!!!!

I Tankard sul palco sono le stesse persone nella vita di ogni giorno? Fate solo musica?
No, tutti noi abbiamo dei lavori regolari. I sono un assistente sociale e provo ad aiutare i tossicomani, esattamente l’opposto di quello che faccio con i Tankard…

Parliamo di birra (ora sto sorridendo). Qual è la migliore birra italiana? E quale birra non consiglieresti mai a nessuno?
Stella e Peroni, per favore non provare mai birra alcolica gratis!!!!

Dopo questi venti anni come una band di successo, il vostro stile è sempre lo stesso. Suonate un thrash metal genuino ed eccellente. Non avete tradito i vostri fan. Qual è il vostro segreto? E che cosa pensi dei gruppi thrash metal che usano artifici moderni?
Prima di tutto: ognuno può fare quello che vuole. Io posso parlare solo per i Tankard. Noi ci divertiamo a suonare quel tipo di musica esattamente come 24 anni fa, così noi siamo ancora dentro il thrash e non ci rinunceremo mai. Non vedo l’ora di arrivare ai prossimi 24 anni…

Che cosa pensi degli Irreverence?
Ragazzi che ci stanno dentro, una grande band!!! Amo veramente la loro resa sul palco!!!

‘The Beauty and The Beer’ è il vostro ultimo album. Puoi descrivercelo in poche parole?
Thrash metal vecchia scuola con un sound moderno. Chitarre molto heavy e testi divertenti. È veramente un successo!!!

Che cosa significa la copertina divertente?
Il mostro guarda prima la birra invece della ragazza. Una copertina comica che si adatta bene al titolo!!

Qual è l’album che ha segnato la tua vita?
‘If You Want Blood You've Got It’ degli AC/DC. È stato il mio primo album hard rock. E naturalmente ‘Zombie Attack’ perchè è stato il nostro primo album!!!

Interview to Tankard (Andreas "Gerre" Geremia)

A thrash metal band born in Frankfurt (1982). Thrash metal very speedy. An alcoholic metal, the kings of beer. Today they haven’t betrayed their followers.

I want begin talking about your tour. How is your tour been going?
Very great, we had a lot of fun in Milano, Prato and Gorizia and the fans were really enthusiastic!!!!!

You have often stated that your most amusing concerts were in Italy. Why? Which is your message for Italian fans?
The fans are totally crazy and love thrash metal, our message: keep on thrashing and having fun, metal will never die!!!!

Now I’m not a virgin because I’ve been present at one of your concert in Milan (09/29/2006 at Rainbow). Thrash concerts are celebrated for its headbanging, jumping and human throwing. Several times some boy (especially some girl) gets hurt. Which is your opinion about it?
The people have to take care each other, that`s very important, but the girl who was hurt in Milano is ok again, she just wrote me a mail a couple of days ago!!!!!

Are Tankard on stage the same men in everyday life? Do you just make music?
No, we all have regular jobs, I`m a social worker and try to help drug addicted people, the very opposite of what I do with Tankard……….

Speaking about beer (I’m smiling). Which is the best Italian beer? And which beer can you ever recommend to nobody?
Stella and Peroni, please never try alchol free beer!!!!!!

After these twenty years as successful band, your sound style is the same. You play genuine and excellent thrash metal. You havent’t betrayed your fans. Which is your secret? And what do you think about tharsh metal bands use modern artificies?
Firt of all: everybody can do what they want, I just can talk about Tankard: we still have the same fun to play that kind of music as 24 years ago, so we are still into thrash and never give really up. I`m really looking forward for the next 24 years……….

‘The Beauty and The Beer’ is your last album. Can you describe it in a few words?
Old school thrash metal with a modern sound, very heavy guitars and some funlyrics, it really hits!!!!

Whats means the fun cover?
The monster looks first at the beer instead of the girl, a comic cover, that really fits to the title!!

Which is the album that hit your life?
AC/DC: ‘If You Want Blood You've Got It’, my first hard rock album. And of course ‘Zombie Attack’ because it was our first one!!!!!
